What is the end result of our living for Christ? Why is it so important for us to live in accordance to the Word of God? As a matter of fact, why do we commit ourselves to a God we have never seen, Do we believe that He will preserve us and protect us? These are good questions you can ask. The answer is simple.

Who made you? Who gives you breath to breathe? Who gives you sustenance for your every day-to-day needs? Who heals you of your sicknesses? Who gives you strength to perform your every day-to-day chores and duties? Whose mercies are new every morning? Do I need to go on? I don’t think so.

The answer to all of your questions is simply: GOD! It is He who gave his Son to die in our stead to give us life not only in this world but the world to come, known to us as eternity. He is the ultimate giver of every good and perfect gift we’ve ever experienced. Our end result of life is that we, as God’s children, will live with Him eternally in His home, or His kingdom, ruling with Him in His eternity which is far better than what we are experiencing here, in this world as we know it.

                                Don’t Doubt Him! Believe Him!

History is related to past events as well as memory, discovery, collection, organization, presentation, and interpretation of these events. Ward Chapel AME Church has a rich history of one hundred and twenty years. Commissioned one hundred and twenty years ago to do one thing and that is to serve humanity or in other words, serving the whole man.

The African Methodist Episcopal Church was born out of sociological issues rather than denominational doctrine and dogma differences as so many other assemblies were born. It has been the mission of our church to touch lives and change hearts; in our communities, in our schools, in our government, in our homes, and in our world. That is with every facet and fiber of the church.

We are mandated by God through His Son Jesus Christ to go into the world and make disciples, feed the hungry, clothed the naked just to mentioned a few of our assignments as a part of the body of Christ. We do this by faith and the power of God through Christ who leads and guides us. Ward, for one hundred and twenty years, you have stood the test of time and you are still standing in the power and strength of the Lord.

As servant pastor of Ward, I salute you for your continued work and ministry for one hundred and twenty years. May God continue to undergird you for years to come as you touch lives and change hearts.

Forever in His Service,

Rev. Eric J. Knowles, Pastor
